Meet Jerome Bond! He participated in The Beachbody Challenge and won the $500 Daily Prize for July 14th!
Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
I was always that guy, in my group of friends, who was known for being in shape, fit, and athletic. I believe this was due to me playing so many sports growing up, always being active, working out, and eating healthy. After getting married to my amazing wife, we planned on having kids. Unexpectedly, that turned into nearly a year of house remodeling and preparing for the baby. Many late nights of house work and unhealthy take out food was a recipe for disaster. With all the work I was doing, I lacked motivation to continue my active ways. Before I knew it, almost a year had gone by and I had only worked out a handful of times, and was rarely active…unless cutting or hammering something counts. In this relatively short period of time, I gained 20+ pounds and was in the worst shape of my life.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
I had hit rock bottom. A healthy lifestyle was always one my top priorities in life which was instilled in me at a very young age. Fortunately, I couldn’t stand the way I felt. I thought of my then 1 year old daughter and knew I couldn’t let this continue to happen. I wanted to be a healthy role model for her and I also wanted to make sure I could keep up once she started running around!
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
It was difficult to change my habits of unhealthy eating, but the nutrition plan turned that around. I also found a ton of help and support for meal planning and recipes from my Team Beachbody Coach. The most challenging aspect was getting into a routine and working out every day, but being able to do it at home made all the difference. I scheduled my workouts each day and made time for them. I knew that all I needed to do was “Push Play” each day and the results would come.
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
With P90X3, I loved that all I had to do each day was a 30-minute workout. It made the commitment to the program so much easier knowing that, no matter what, I could squeeze 30 minutes in. Several times during my round of P90X3, I had to make a 7 hour drive from Northern California to Southern California. Waking up early and getting in late, I still worked out those days! That would have never happened if I had to go to a gym.
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
P90X3 got me ripped! I lost all my excess body fat and gained leaned muscle. I’m most proud of the six pack abs I sculpted!
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
It’s given me a huge confidence boast in all aspects of life. It’s also made the activities I love to do such as running, hiking, softball, snowboarding, and wakeboarding, so much easier and fun to do!
