Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
I was totally overwhlemed. I had just had my second child, and was completely disgusted with how I looked. I felt like I was in someone else’s body.4 I didn’t think I could possibly make the time to exercise or eat well.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
I had followed my Coach’s (Joline Atkins) story of her transformation with Beachbody on Facebook, and had found it motivational, but didn’t really think I could do it too. I made all the excuses I could think of as to why it had to be easier for her. When I saw her post about starting a new Challenge Group, I decided it was time to commit. Not only did I need to lose the rest of my baby weight, but I also wanted to set a better example for my kids. Once I started seeing results I was so motivated to continue. I’ve now done ChaLEAN Extreme, TurboFire, Hip Hop Abs, Focus T25, 21 Day Fix, and just finished PiYo.
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?
Time was easily my greatest challenge. I had a 3 month old and a 2 1/2 year old when I started, and I returned to work from maternity leave the same week I started by first Beachbody program. So, life was still pretty unpredictable. I knew I needed to make working out a priority or it would get lost in the insanity of 2 kids, a husband, a house, and a job. So I started getting up at 5 AM to workout. Being accountable to my Challenge Group was so helpful. Knowing that someone else was looking out for me and was having some of the same struggles helped to keep me going when I wanted to quit. Shakeology was also great because I am a total chocoholic. With Shakeology I could still have something chocolatey every day, and it was good for me!
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I’m seeing definition in my arms and abs that I haven’t gotten with other programs and I’m more flexible. I can do all the push ups on my toes, which is huge for me since I do not like pushups.
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
I love getting dressed now! I fit into clothes that haven’t fit since before my kids were born and some are too big. I also am more consistent with exercise than I have ever been in my life and I cannot foresee any reason why I want that to change. I have also become a Beachbody Coach and am really excited about trying to help others.
