Lindsay Toned Up for Her Wedding with PiYo

Lindsey I lost 13.6 lbs in 2 months with PiYo. She entered her results into The Beachbody Challenge , and won the $500 Daily Prize for August 13th!

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
I started doing cleanses a few years ago. I was 158 pounds at my heaviest and I dropped to 125 pounds after doing the cleanse, continuing to eat clean, and working out about five times a week. I kept the weight off for about 6 months, but I started traveling for work and the holidays snuck up on me; I started to put weight on again. I yo-yo-ed for about 3 years and did the 3-week cleanse another 4 or 5 times during that time. I never went back up to 158, but I did gain and lose about 20 pounds a year. I knew what I had to do to lose the weight and keep it off but I didn’t always make it a priority. I also learned to love the summer because dress sizes were more forgiving than pants in the winter. I was so discouraged that I couldn’t wear the size 2 and size 4 pants I had in my closet, and I had to wear my “fat jeans.”

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
A friend did 21 Day Fix and then PiYo after having her 3rd kid last Fall, and she inspired me to try PiYo to get in shape for my wedding. I started 11 weeks before the big day but I had dress fittings along the way, so I had mini-milestones to work towards.

What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?
I’m a morning person, but I could still rationalize not getting up to go to the gym if I went to bed late the night before or if I had to get into work early to catch up on emails. Once I started PiYo, the excuses went away. After a couple weeks, I didn’t need to set an alarm – even on the weekends! I would wake-up ready and excited for my workout.
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I also responded well to the meal plan. I found the PiYo meal plan very feasible. I didn’t have a hard time eating out with friends, and I actually felt like I was eating more than I would normally. I was eat the right things in the right balance. I also liked the variety in the PiYo workouts. My “favorite” workout would change week to week. I also liked that some of the poses were challenging at first so I felt a sense of accomplishments when I finally mastered them.

Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I’m really proud of how tone I am after the program. When I would a do 3-week cleanse and eat cleanly, I would lose weight but never got the same full body definition results I achieved with PiYo. I’m also proud that I stuck with the program not only for the 8 weeks but now into week 11 without missing a workout. I even bought a DVD player and traveled with it during a few out of town weekends to make sure I wouldn’t miss my workout on the road – now that is dedication! I also ran a 10k at the end of week 7. I used Fridays to train for the race. I finished in 54:17 or a 8:44 pace to finish 25 for my age group. I did a half-marathon over 5 years ago and I wasn’t in nearly as good of shape for that race. I felt great finishing the 10k and now I’m planning on a 15k in the fall.

How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
I have more energy and balance in my life, and I’m going to look fabulous this weekend in my wedding dress! I’ve been recommending the programs to others when I get complaints on my new figure, and I’ve been directing people who are interested to my Coach.

How did your Team Beachbody® Coach support you on your journey?

Julie was my inspiration for starting the program. After having 3 kids in 3 years she made a commitment to get her body back last Fall. She started with 21 Day Fix and then did PiYo in January and February. I was so impressed with her results that I wanted to give it a try. I’m continually motivated and inspired by the photos and recipes she posts on social media. She is also quite the hostess and it is so refreshing to know that when I go to her house I’ll be served healthy options.
