Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
I am a self-employed professional with a very busy work schedule. I was the type of person who thought I ate healthy, and I went to the gym four to five times per week. However, after joining Beachbody, I soon realized I need to eat five to six meals per day instead of one to two meals per day. My workouts were very intense, and I gave each and every workout 100 percent. When I signed up for Beachbody, I had plans to lose approx. 10-15 pounds. I had no idea I would achieve the results I did. In 90 days, my six-pack was starting to form.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
I always wanted to see my six-pack. My 40th birthday was in June of 2015, and I completed my program in mid-May. My goal was to try to be in the best physical shape of my life. I never imagined I would be in the 180-pound range ever again, after being in the 200-220 range for the majority of my adult life.
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
With my busy schedule, I had every excuse as to why I couldn’t find the time to eat four to five meals per day. I always thought that if I eat two good meals per day, I would be fine. I always ate somewhat healthy foods but starved myself between meals, and my metabolism became very slow. Now that I eat more often, I find my metabolism is excellent. Thanks for all the helpful tips to my Coach Mike Whitney and to Beachbody for the amazing programs you offer.
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
The P90X program was very challenging. The thing I like the best about the program is that there is always a modifier, intermediate, and advanced trainer to follow in the videos. During the first couple weeks of the program, I thought there is no way I could ever follow the advanced trainer. But by the end of the program, I found myself doing most of the advanced moves.
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I am extremely proud of myself that I surpassed the goals that I set at the start of the program. My goals were to: 1) Be in the best shape of my life…check. 2) See my six pack…check. 3) Lose 10-15 pounds…check (I actually lost 31.6 pounds in 90 days). 4) Decrease my body fat percentage to 14 percent…check (I achieved 9.5 percent). 5) Maintain a healthy lifestyle, and learn to eat properly…check.
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
I have decided to pay my new knowledge forward and help others. Since I completed my P90X program in May, I have decided to become a Coach myself. I am looking forward to helping others reach their goals.
How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
The Challenge Group was exactly what I needed. The daily interaction with the peers in my group was amazing. I developed new friends that I will have for a lifetime.
How did your Team Beachbody Coach support you on your journey?
My Coach Mike was amazing. If anyone was down, he brought them right back up. He was involved in the group daily. He made sure that we were all on track and our goals were being met.
