Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
Before I started Body Beast, I considered myself in decent health even though I felt like I had added a few pounds over the years. I played collegiate baseball but had not worked out or lifted any kind of weights in 20 years. I considered myself athletic, but I was not in athletic shape. In fact, I was in no shape. I ate what I wanted and loved soda. In fact, I would drink an average of four soda per day.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
What inspired me. Two things. First, while shopping, I paused at a blood pressure machine and decided to see what my blood pressure measurements were. The results were BP 142 / 94. I always considered myself to be of average health and shape seeing how I have been around athletics my entire life. I shared the numbers with my wife and she was shocked. She was scared for me, and that scared me straight. I decided that day something had to change. I have always also seen before and after photos of people transforming their bodies, health, and life. To be honest, I wanted to prove the infomercials from all these workout plans wrong. I wanted to prove that you cannot order a program and get the results that they show. However, I decided to follow every point and every step of the Body Beast program. What a great decision! It works! I love the results. I have muscles and a body shape. Round 2 starts now.
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?
My biggest challenge before I began was the nutrition. As a father of 4 athletes, we are always on the go, and I always ate on the run. Fast food, sodas, and junk food filled our weekday and weekend menus. The Body Beast program with its supplements, shakes, and recipes helped me understand food and opened my eyes to healthy eating. I didn’t think one could enjoy eating healthy. Sagi’s meatballs, flatbread pizza recipes, and monster oatmeal became a staple in the beginning as I learned to transition to healthy eating. Without these types of recipes, I don’t think I would have stuck with it long enough to make the transition to clean eating. I lost 23 pounds, and my energy level is amazing.
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I liked the fact that this was about lifting weights and building muscle. I am not a big fan of cardio. I liked how the program told you what types of supplements your body needs to build and recover from workouts. I loved how the book had recipes and meal designs. I liked how it was mostly dumbbell bases. I liked writing down my weights and keeping up with my progress.
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
Let me say this: Honestly, I started the program to prove that my type of results don’t happen in 90 days. I was wrong. I love my results! I lost 23 pounds. I feel ripped. The result that in not measurable is my energy level. Before Body Beast, I would drag out of bed every morning feeling sluggish and on the weekends. I only wanted to lie around and watch TV because I felt drained. Now, I roll out of bed 45 minutes earlier than before and feel great, and on nights and weekends I don’t slow down a bit.
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
Body Beast has changed my life. I understand nutrition. I look forward to eating healthy. I understand how to fuel my body. I am proud of the way I look. When I started Body Beast, I never wore a sleeveless or fitted shirt. Today, my apparel is full of fitted athletic shirts and tanks. My results motivate me everyday to keep moving and progressing forward.
