Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
I have always been an athlete and a workout junkie. But in January 2015, I embarked on a four-month journey abroad in Europe, and I totally let my workout routine slip through the cracks, along with my healthy eating habits. I completely overindulged, and when I returned home four months later, I was 20 pounds overweight. Twenty pounds might not sound like a lot, but I had never been this out of shape, or had this much extra weight on my body. I was completely miserable. I was so uncomfortable in my own skin; my clothes didn’t fit right; I had lost that self-confidence that I used to wear so proudly; and I didn’t want to do anything. I barely wanted to leave my house. The first few weeks getting back into the healthy lifestyle that I had lived with ease before were absolutely miserable. I was crying during my workouts. I was so frustrated that I could barely do two push-ups in a row, when my workouts used to be so much fun and I loved to challenge myself and get better every day.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
I wanted to get back into the shape I was in before I left for Europe. I realized how much working out and making healthy eating choices affects every area of your life. I knew I had to get back to that.
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
The greatest challenged I faced before beginning the program was the lack of mental and physical energy. I was in a very negative mindset because the journey ahead seemed so daunting and unattainable. I had never had this much weight to lose. Beachbody helped me overcome this challenge, because I am privileged enough to have my Beachbody Coach be my mom. She reminded me every day to keep working at it, and reminded me of my goals. The program helped me because I stuck with it and it made it so easy to follow. I never missed a workout, and I had my Shakeology every day. I also had my portion-control containers so I knew exactly how much to eat.
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I am a Shaun T junkie! I absolutely love his stuff. I love the mix of cardio and strength. I love that the workouts are 30 minutes. I love the idea of MAXING OUT and having an attainable number (what minute you MAX OUT) to try and beat every day. It makes your goals so visual, and I am a very visual person. I can write down that I MAXED OUT at 17 minutes, then look at the first week, and see the first time I did the workout, I MAXED OUT at only 3 minutes. What a difference, and how encouraging to see my progress!
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I am most proud of the achievements I have made in my strength and endurance. I am the strongest I have ever been. I am also really proud of the discipline I have had in my eating. Following the portion-control containers and having the app to track it makes things so visual for me. I have really stuck to the eating part. I have completely eliminated unnecessary snacking.
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
To fit my workouts in, I wake up every morning at 6:30 am, work out, and have my Shakeolgoy before I go to work. I can’t even describe the difference this has made in my life. It gives me energy throughout the day, starts my day off right every day, and I have such a different mindset. I am so much more positive, and it helps me make good decisions in all areas of my life.
How did your Team Beachbody Coach support you on your journey?
I owe everything to my upline Beachbody Coach, Dana Neve — someone I am lucky enough to call my mom. She is my biggest supporter in everything I do. If it weren’t for her constant motivation and encouragement, I would not have made it past Day 3 of my program. When I was frustrated, she is the one who would remind me of my goals. She would remind me that it takes time and hard work, and I won’t see my results in one day but over time I will be back in the shape I was in before I left for Europe.

Energy and Endurance — wow, what a difference this makes in my workouts! I have so much energy to last me through my workouts when I drink this before. Shakeology has greatly reduced my cravings throughout the day. It also helped my digestion and mood.
