Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?

Before I started my journey with Beachbody programs I was very lazy, all I did was sit around all day playing video games all day and eating fast food, drinking pop all day and eat chocolate like crazy. I was just never willing to put any effort into anything but sitting on my butt doing absolutely nothing at all. It made me depressed all the time, and stressed all the time with the way I looked. I never took a picture with my shirt off, that is how depressed with the way I had looked before I started working out on a daily basis. I hated the way I looked and felt everyday I was overweight. I weighed about 285 pounds and I was just never happy with myself, and where I was in my life in general. I always looked for the easiest way out of everything I did. No matter what I did I didn’t want to put much effort into anything I did, and if I tried anything, for any amount of time, and didn’t see results I would just give up right there and then, and get all depressed on myself like usual

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?

Well first I was tired of always being fat, I was tired of always being lazy, I was tired of always looking and feeling like crap, and never having the energy to do anything I wanted to do. I was tired of just being all around lazy. I also didn’t want my daughter to be raised to be lazy, and go through the same mistakes I did in life. I wanted her to see her daddy become healthier and happier with himself so she would follow my path in health and fitness. So I decided there needed to be a change in who I was in general, and the way I lived my life. I needed to show my daughter that the healthier lifestyle was a better path, and that exercise and nutrition was the best way to a better life. I wanted myself to get a better eating habit, and I wanted to exercise on a regular basis so that I would be all around happier with myself, my lifestyle, my eating habit, and my workouts. To be the best me I can become, and to become the best for my daughters sake too.

What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?

My greatest challenge, at first, was telling myself to never quit, and to keep pushing myself no matter what difficulties I went through. I was also challenged with learning to eat better too, because I ate like crap. I needed to get myself into a regular workout habit and schedule, so that way I was working out nearly an hour a day. I needed to push myself, no matter the obstacles I had in front of me. I need push myself, and my body, harder then I have ever pushed myself before. At first I hated working out. I hated being so tired and exhausted. I hated everything about what I was doing to my body, because I wasn’t used to it. I just kept pushing, and kept pushing. A I went along, I kept seeing better and better results, and kept having more motivation to keep pushing myself to my limit. I also noticed my daughter seeing a difference too. She started showing daddy different little poses, and that was my other motivation too seeing her mimic what I was doing.

What in particular did you like about the program you chose?

Well I chose INSANITY first because it was a crazy program, and scared the hell out of me to try. I wanted to try Focus T25 because I was a huge Shaun T fan, and wanted to continue doing his workouts. Then I chose INSANITY: THE ASYLUM because it actually scared me more than INSANITY did. I chose P90X3 because I wanted a workout that pushed the strength side of me, and made me strong. I just finished PiYo and have seen quite a difference in my stretching ability, which that is what I was looking for in the first place. I wanted to find programs that found different ways to push me in new ways and they did. I keep seeing changes in my body in slow progression, and that is what I was looking for to begin with. I hate cardio and strength training and that was what INSANITY, ASYLUM, and X3 did, but I wanted to push myself in those ways to overcome the fears I had for them.

Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?

Well first off, my cardio is way better then it ever could be. Before I started working out I was only able to run maybe a mile at a time until I was completely exhausted. Thanks to the programs I have completed, I can now run about 7 miles at a time. Before I really had no muscle, except a flat stomach, and over time I have come to have a 5 pack, along with massive back and shoulder strength. I had no arm muscle, but now I actually have muscle when I flex. I used to only be able to do 1 to 3 pull ups at a time. Now, I just got to 14 pull ups at a time which, in my mind, is amazing for me. I am so proud of who I am today that I actually take my shirt off in public and am happy with the way I look. I hardly stress at all. I am super happy with the way I look today, and am proud of who I have become. My daughter understands what I do, and that makes me happiest of all things, because that was what I was trying to achieve to begin with.

How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
Well for starters, I no longer eat fast food or drink pop. I don’t allow that stuff in my body anymore. I have given up on chocolate as well, and do not go for fatty food in general, except good fats. I also eat a lot more vegetables, and I drink anywhere from 100 oz to 200 oz of water a day. I make sure to eat lots of protein, like eggs and chicken. I make sure to eat as healthy as I possibly can. I have also cut out as much sugar as I can, and get most of my sugar from fruits. I work out anywhere form between 1 to 2 hours a day. It’s my addiction. I can’t get enough of it. I rarely take days off. Most of the time I will at least stretch on the days I am supposed to take off. I love sweating and the way working out makes me feel, especially eating healthy. Altogether I have completely turned my life around and I love it. I rarely play video games, and actually don’t really have an interest in them at all. Instead I would rather work out than play a game.
