Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
Before starting the program, I felt bad about my body, both emotionally and physically. Emotionally, I felt disappointed with my body. I looked ugly and fat in all my clothes. I used to stay standing to disguise my tummy. On the beach, I always wore a shirt. Physically, I felt shortness of breath with any physical exercise, such as walking or climbing stairs. On occasion, I felt dizziness and tachycardia. I was almost always tired and lacked energy. I felt sleepy and unwilling to do anything.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
What made me decide to start the program was the desire to change my body and live a healthier life, as well as the fear that an unhealthy life would lead to chronic disease such as diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. I looked for information, support, guidance, and inspiration. When I saw all the testimonials of people who had participated in programs from Beachbody, I was impressed and delighted with their Success Stories. So I made the commitment to myself to improve my lifestyle completely.
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
I’ve always been a person with little willpower to exercise. The biggest challenge I had was deciding to start a program. Although I was aware that I needed to do something, I always found a justification for evading the challenge. But the constant support and insistence of my wife and my current Coach (my wife’s sister-in-law) made me take forces and start the program. The hardest stage was the first week of the program. I felt nauseous every day after every work out; some days, I ended up vomiting. Hunger at night was unbearable. I came to think, and I told my wife, that maybe some bodies are not designed to withstand physical exercise. But she supported me and stood by my side in each workout.
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I think Beast Body is an extraordinary program. It is well-designed and thought-out. The way Sagi Kalev mixes old and modern concepts of exercise and a healthy diet is masterful. This program helped me transform and re-shaped my body. It helped me lose weight, and taught me a better way of eating and living. I can say that Body Beast changed my life completely.
Describe the results you’ve achieved. What changes are you most proud of?
Today, I am healthier, more active, and a more self-confident person. Today, I’m a Beast! It’s amazing how the size of my belly has decreased, and my chest size has increased and taken shape. Also, my shoulders and back are more defined and shaped.
How did your Team Beachbody Coach support you on your journey?
My Coach was with me every step of the way — giving me guidance, motivation, information, and support. During the three-month program, every morning I had to tell her how I felt, my weight, and my meals. I received her words of encouragement, recipe ideas, pictures, information about physical exercise, and many more things. I trust and love my Coach. I think, without her, I would not have reached my goals and met the challenge of completing the program.
