Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
I’ve always been a yo-yo dieter and have had back problems due to degenerative disks.3 I got sick and tired of repeated flare-ups and being in bad health. I wanted to finally take as much control of my health as possible. I wanted to eliminate any excess weight for good, and begin strengthening my core and other major muscles to compensate for my bad back.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
Being an example of health and fitness for my kids, and being sick of not being able to play with them because of my back issues.3
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
The greatest challenge was overcoming the fear of my back pain limiting my ability to exercise. I began my weight-loss journey with months of clean eating and physical therapy in order to get myself in decent shape to resume regular exercise. As I began to shed weight through better nutrition, I was able to start working out using Beachbody programs. I began with FOCUS T25 and modified before I was able to get some endurance back. I then did two cycles of 21 Day Fix, followed by one cycle of 22 Minute Hard Corps. These programs helped me shed excess weight, therefore reducing undue strain on my back. Furthermore, my core strength improved drastically, which helps support my back. Not to mention, Shakeology really kept me energized and improved my overall health. I can’t wait to do my next blood test to see how my cholesterol scores. I’m a full believer in Beachbody, and now as a Coach, I’m helping others start their own transformations.
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
T25: Shaun T is just so full of energy and didn’t leave a dull moment. I felt the burn not only during the workout, but well after it was over.
21 Day Fix: Challenging yet easy to follow. Also targeted all areas of the body. Autumn Calabrese makes it fun and is great at pushing you to finish those last few reps.
22 Minute Hard Corps: Loved most of the workouts, and of course, the 22 minutes. Some moves I felt compromised my posture and didn’t feel were safe, so I would modify.
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I’m feeling altogether fitter, more toned, so much of a fighter, more energetic, and happier. Everyone at work sees the difference it’s made in me, not just physically but in my overall happiness and mood.
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
I feel so much better. My confidence is at an all-time high. I am paying it forward to other people and sharing my journey and success. I’ve already inspired a handful of others who did the program with me and got great results.
How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
Seeing others post daily updates and workouts gave me motivation to ensure I completed my workouts and drank my Shakeology. The day I missed a workout, I was challenged to get right back on track. I then began my own Challenge Groups, which put more pressure on me to stay on track and inspire others. I’ve helped about a dozen challengers lose double-digit pounds, and I’m going to keep riding this amazing wave!
How did your Team Beachbody Coach support you on your journey?
Caleb’s an all-around genuine person. He encouraged me often and gave me a push to keep going and share my story.
How did a Beachbody supplement, nutritional product, or program (such as Shakeology or Beachbody Ultimate Reset) support your transformation? What are the greatest benefits you gained? Did you see benefits to your energy, sleep, mood/mental clarity, or digestion/regularity?
Shakeology was definitely key to my daily nutrition. I felt more energized and treated it as my dessert! It tastes amazing.
Did you achieve any other measurable improvements with a Beachbody supplement, nutritional product, or program (e.g. blood pressure, blood sugar, triglycerides, etc.)?
I haven’t had a chance to get blood work done. But I can say that my blood sugar levels “felt” lower because I wasn’t craving sweets, which I usually do whenever I have insulin spikes. I can’t wait to see my cholesterol scores.
