10 Minute Trainer Results: Andrew Lost 38 Pounds

Meet Andrew H. He lost 38 pounds with 10-Minute Trainer. He entered his 10 Minute Trainer results into The Beachbody Challenge, and won the $500 Daily Prize for March 8th!

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
After graduating college, I continued to play volleyball. For conditioning, I would randomly go for runs and strength condition using a Bowflex. My weight was slowly but steadily rising. I began to work out using Tony Horton’s Power 90 program. My weight was still rising. What was the problem? It was my diet. I have a tremendous appetite, and I had been feeding that appetite a steady stream of cookies, ice cream, pizza, fast food hamburgers and fries, microwaveable dinners — ugh! I cannot believe that I didn’t weigh 300 lbs.

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
In April 2011, I weighed in at 220 lbs. I was feeling slow. I knew it was time for a change. I began to track my calorie intake using a phone app and the pounds started to melt. I was eating fewer calories, and I was avoiding sweets, the high fat, and high refined carbohydrate foods that were responsible for my 220 lbs. I still need to feel full, so I had to eat low calorie foods and prepare them in a low calorie manner. Now. I am not trying to gain muscle or even lose more weight, but I am trying to maintain the results that Beachbody programs have brought me.

What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?
My workouts never had the correct pacing. I would run too slow or take too long a break when lifting. My diet was also always lacking. The DVD’s push me to keep up with the trainers, and the nutrition guide gave me the nutrition I need.

What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I enjoyed 10-Minute Trainer because it is flexible for the time that I have. I can work out for one video or even three if that fits my schedule that day. I also liked the portability of the program. With the workout cards and a resistance band, I can work out while on vacation or at work away from home.

Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I’m proud that, with 10-Minute Trainer, I was able to continue my workouts even when my daily schedule became packed with work and family responsibilities.

How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
I feel better about myself as a person. I stand as an example to my friends and family of healthy living.
