Cranberry Orange Shakeology

This smoothie combines mouth-puckering unsweetened cranberry juice and fresh (or frozen) berries with sweet Strawberry Shakeology for a balanced, refreshing shake.

Cranberries blend with another cheerful fruit – oranges.

Specifically, the most flavorful part of the orange: the peel.

It’s filled with an intoxicating orange aroma and even a small amount grated into this smoothie will make a big impact.

Use a microplane to grate just the bright orange part of the peel, avoiding the white pith underneath.

If you don’t have a microplane, you can use a vegetable peeler or small, sharp knife to remove the outermost layer of the peel, and then finely chop it before tossing it into the blender.

The tartness of unsweetened cranberry juice and orange zest also taste great with frozen cherries or raspberries. Add a little bit of flair with spices like ground clove or nutmeg.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup water
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 1 cup ice
  • 1 scoop Strawberry Shakeology
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen cranberries
  • 1 tsp. finely grated orange peel (orange zest)

Instructions

  1. Place water, cranberry juice, ice, Shakeology, cranberries, and orange peel in blender; cover. Blend until smooth.
