Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
Before I started the 21 Day Fix program, I had no energy, was tired all the time, had low self-esteem and self-image, and felt that no matter what I did, I would not be good enough or strong enough to succeed. I have never been “tiny” and do not expect to be. I want to be fit and energetic and able to live each and every day to its fullest without hating what I see in the mirror!
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
Having two children, six and eight, I absolutely hated the way I felt and looked and was so down on myself with my “can’t do” attitude when I wanted them to believe they could do anything they put their minds to. I wanted to be able to be a “fun” mom who could run around with them and keep up with them, a mom they could be proud of! I started at my highest weight ever, including the day I went into labor with my youngest. I needed a change and tried 21 Day Fix due to the success I saw that it gave others!
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
The greatest challenge I faced before beginning the program was an “I can’t” attitude and excuses that just went on for miles for why I did not have time to focus on me. My children and husband are extremely supportive, and the Beachbody Challenge Groups I am in are giving me the motivation and support I need to succeed. I am proud of how far I have come but still have more to go. My family and friends are proud of what I have achieved and others have joined this fitness journey with me. Time is still an issue but I am overcoming it more and more daily!
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I love the 21 Day Fix program, because it is short enough to finish and fit into my schedule! I started with the modifications on some workouts and love to see how much stronger I am getting each time with less and less modifications. I like the variety of workouts so I do not have to do the same thing every day. I started Shakeology partway through my second challenge, and I love the energy it gives me. I recently purchased TurboFire and am planning to start it soon.
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I have lost 25.6 lbs. and around 29 inches from February 7, 2016 to April 21, 2016. I have a ton more energy and overall just love how I feel. I am proud of myself for taking the opportunity to try Beachbody and to post my pictures and results for lots to see (pictures and measurements were new to me with Beachbody, and it was incredibly hard to do at first).
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
I have an “I can” attitude and am leading my children by example! I have more energy, and we are doing more as a family like hiking and rollerblading that I would not have had the ability to do for an extended amount of time before. I am proud of my achievement, and feel my life is more fulfilled and enriched due to the changes in my body and mind.
How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
The Challenge Group I participated in was filled with amazing Coaches and clients. The Coaches posted daily challenges that held us accountable each day and encouraged us to make motivating posts about our daily achievements, things we thought might help others, and food choices we were making. There were a lot of people in the Group and not everyone was doing the same program. This helped me to realize all Beachbody has to offer and the desire to try the shakes and another program. I was motivated daily and a prize at the end never hurts either 🙂 Each person had their own reasons for making a change in their lives, and it was so inspiring. All of the Coaches were very supportive. I loved the Groups so much, I was able to get quite a few friends to join me on my fitness journey with their own!
How did your Team Beachbody Coach support you on your journey?
Amy Brinkman would check in with me frequently to see how I was doing, congratulate my successes, and give an extra push when I needed it. She always made sure I knew about the new programs coming out and answered any questions I had throughout. I was very hesitant on trying Shakeology, and she answered so many questions and motivated me to go for it. She helped me to start this fitness journey through her own success!
How did a Beachbody supplement, nutritional product, or program (such as Shakeology or Beachbody Ultimate Reset) support your transformation? What are the greatest benefits you gained? Did you see benefits to your energy, sleep, mood/mental clarity, or digestion/regularity?
Shakeology really helps me get through my day. I find myself snacking a lot less and drinking a ton more water throughout my day. I have not been using Shakeology very long, but am amazed at how it has made me feel in such a short amount of time.
