21 Day Fix Results: Mark lost 25 Pounds In Less Than 30 Days

Mark Webber, age 46 from Olympia, WA, lost 25 pounds in less than 30 days with 21 Day Fix. He entered his results into The Beachbody Challenge and won $1,000!

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?

I am retiring from the Army this year after over 29 years of service. I had it in my mind that it was time for me to relax and enjoy life now that I wouldn’t have “standards” to meet. I gained 25+ lbs and hadn’t worked out in over a year. I was having more and more health problems and would get winded tying my shoes. I felt fat and looked overweight and was having a hard time fitting into my clothes. I enjoy beer and would drink a couple days a week, or more, enjoying 2-6 large, high calorie beers each time. In addition to the mega calories I was drinking, the cost for these high quality beers was substantial.

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
Earlier this year, my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. Watching everything that she has been going through with surgery, chemotherapy and the upcoming radiation therapy, caused us both to realize that we need to change our lifestyle. We were urged, by a friend and Beachbody Coach, to join her Challenge Group and start using Shakeology and a Beachbody program. We selected the 21 Day Fix and kicked it off on 5 July and have been having a blast with it ever since.

What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?
My biggest challenge before beginning the 21 Day Fix was knowing that I would have to cut back and/or cut out my beloved beer consumption, as well as eating more vegetables. I have never been one to each veggies and have struggled with this most of my life. To overcome these challenges, my wife and I made a pledge to do it. Giving up the beer was easier than expected and neither of us really misses it much. As far as the veggies, I have recently started trying items I avoided for years and have actually found that I like most of them. There are some I can tolerate and others I still can’t do but I am still working on creative, healthy was to incorporate them into recipes.

What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I chose the 21 Day Fix and love the 30 minute workouts, meal plan and portion control containers. I have to get up early to do my workouts and I love that the workouts are all right around 30 minutes. I definitely feel like I am doing an effective workout and have plenty of time to complete them without having to get up at 0430. The clean/portion control eating plan is helping me to make healthy choices and not eat til I’m over stuffed.

Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
In just about a month of following the 21 Day Fix program, I have been able to drop 25 lbs, I have improved my strength and stamina, I don’t get out of breath tying my shoes. One of my most important achievements is that I have been able to lower my blood pressure substantially. I was checked a couple weeks ago and was at 140/90. I was checked again two days ago and registered at 120/73! And, to top it off, I forgot to take my mes that morning.

How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
Since completing the first round of the 21 Day Fix, I have participated in another challenge group and am currently hosting my own. I have also entered, and won, a diet bet sponsored by Sagi Kalev. I am a Beachbody Coach and I am helping others to reach there goals through my Challenge Group and by sharing my storing of success. I have made this more that just a program to complete. I have made it a complete lifestyle change.

How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
I actually participated in two separate, overlapping Challenge Groups which kept me motivated to reach, and ultimately exceed, my goals. I lost 17 lbs during my first 21-day challenge and a total of 21 lbs between the two groups. By participating in the two Challenge Groups, I received daily support and motivation from my Coach and other group members. There was daily posts we participated in for points and prizes to look forward to winning.

How did your Team Beachbody® Coach support you on your journey?
My Coach was very active in motivating and posting in the Challenge Group and private messages me, pretty much, on a daily basis to motivate me and to make sure I was conducting my Coach training and working on my own business. She was also giving me tips and pointers on how to get more people involved in Beachbody.

How did a Beachbody Supplement or Nutritional Product or Program (such as Shakeology® or Beachbody Ultimate Reset®) support your transformation? What are the greatest benefits you gained? Did you see benefits to your energy, sleep, mood/mental clarity, digestion/regularity?
I used Beachbody Shakeology during my program, and continue to use it, and feel that it has helped my energy level, focus/mental clarity and is absolutely delicious when mixed with fresh fruit. Also, my wife recently found a recipe using the chocolate Shakeology which makes for a nice, healthy snack.2
