Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
I was beyond unhealthy. I never exercised and would eat out daily. I remember eating two cheeseburgers and going straight to bed! I hated the way I felt and, most of all, the fact that I had no energy to play with my son. I was becoming so insecure about myself, and it just wasn’t like me. It really started affecting my relationships and the way I acted around people. I hated going shopping and would do anything to avoid large crowds. My anxiety was through the roof!
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
My son is my inspiration for everything. One day I was at my mother-in-law’s house and stepped on the scale — 190 pounds! I could not believe it. I refused to believe that was my weight! I knew I had to change my ways. I was heading toward future diabetes and health problems. I came across my Coach on Instagram, and I saw her transformation. I needed to know what she was doing! She sent me the information, and I told myself I had to do this for me and for my kids! I committed to 21 days, and it’s history from there! This has been the best decision I have ever made! I have now lost 40 pounds, and feel better than I have ever felt!
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
I think my greatest challenge was prioritizing and making time to meal prep and cook healthy, clean food! 21 Day Fix has helped me with that! It has really shown me how easy it is to choose healthy foods and eat the correct portions!
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I loved how easy it was to read and understand! Color-coded food! No counting calories! It’s genius!
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
When I started the program, I had no energy, ate horribly (maybe around 4,000 calories or more a day), and weighed close to 190 pounds at 25 years old. I was beyond overweight! I am so proud that I am now on a healthy 1500-1800 calories a day, weighing 145 pounds! I am proud to say I work out a minimum of five to six times a week and look forward to it!
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
I have so much energy! I love talking to people about fitness goals and health goals. I am happy all the time, and feel so good about my new lifestyle!
How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
Being part of a Challenge Group has been the key element in making me succeed! Having a support group where you can post and ask anything you want, I think, is the most important. Knowing that they help keep you accountable is amazing! I truly think that because of these Challenge Groups, I have succeeded!
