Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
Before I started INSANITY, I worked out five days a week, but it was strictly “weightlifting.” I would hardly do any cardiovascular exercises, and I was trying to get into the “bodybuilder” shape. In just a few months, I went from 174 lbs. to 201 lbs. I could not go up the stairs without being winded. I had to do something, because I felt horrible about my appearance and the weight I let myself get to.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
I was inspired by Jessica Laughter after I asked her about INSANITY. I knew she was in the process of finishing the program herself, so I asked her to explain what it was about. The infomercials I kept seeing on television and the motivational words she gave me encouraged me to get started!
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
The greatest challenge I faced was that I would be taking two months off from the gym, and not doing any weight training. This was difficult to get used to, but I knew that I had to mentally prepare myself for the next 60 days and not give up, no matter what.
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I loved that Shaun T. is very informative during the entire workout. He pushes you, but also tells you to go at your own pace and not to kill yourself in the process. I also loved how intense the workouts are. Whether it is Day 1 or Day 60, the workouts do not get easier, because you are constantly pushing yourself to the max.
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I lost 27 lbs. during the 60 days, and I could not be happier. My face and body are thinner, and my friends constantly tell me how much skinnier I look. I am very proud of the fact that I was able to finish the entire program.
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
I will never step back on another treadmill or elliptical for as long as I live, unless I have no access whatsoever to INSANITY. It is my cardio workout, and I will forever keep this program around. I would and will recommend this program to anyone who is willing to give it a shot!
How did your Team Beachbody Coach support you on your journey?
Jessica was consistently asking how my training was going. She was constantly posting statuses about continuing in your training and having the correct mindset.
How did a Beachbody supplement, nutritional product, or program (such as Shakeology or Beachbody Ultimate Reset) support your transformation? What are the greatest benefits you gained? Did you see benefits to your energy, sleep, mood/mental clarity, or digestion/regularity?
Shakeology was and is the best supplement I have taken, because of the energy it gives. I was not sure how it would affect me at first, and I thought it was all “talk.” I thought this until I ran out of my supplement and discontinued my orders. I noticed a huge difference between taking Shakeology and not having it in my system. I had cravings return that I did not have while I was on it. I also did not have the energy I had while I was taking Shakeology.
