Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
Before I started, I felt so low about myself. I had my daughter at 15 and was a single mother for a long time. My weight started to pack on over the years, and I didn’t realize what was happening until I was at my all time heaviest at 240. I knew I needed to do something. I was at the lowest point in my life. I needed a change.
What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
My daughter. Being healthy and active for her. I knew if I kept on the same path, I would keep getting worse. I became upset with myself about getting tired and sluggish on a daily basis during little tasks. My body was shutting down, and I knew I needed to change ASAP.
What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody® help you overcome that challenge?
Food! I love all kinds of food and can eat a lot in one sitting. The first portion controlled weeks were very hard for me. I am a salty/chips and soda person and giving those up were very hard. I had to do scheduled meals with two snacks in between to just get through the day. Now, not so much… Also, my friends love food and the worse possible food for you. Its been hard doing this alone and around so many teasing temptations. But I did it!
What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I loved when I started with Hip Hop Abs. I thought it was perfect for someone like me that was just starting. I had fun and actually liked doing it. The first 2 months it made me sweat like no other! I have also started T25 and I really kicked my butt into gear! I just really loved the quickness of that workout. Now, When I go back to HHA, I wonder why I sweated so much and couldn’t understand why I thought it was so hard. It showed me how much my body has changed. With TurboFire, I love the upbeat music, Chalene’s motivation for me to push harder and longer, and the fun moves she had built in. I loved shaking it with Chalene!
Describe the results you achieved with your Beachbody program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I set out to hit a target weight goal of 150. I have surpassed that goal, and I couldn’t be happier with my new self-confidence and the way I look. I just wanted to feel happy again, and I am! After losing 80 lbs with HHA and FOCUS T25, I wanted to tone up and start to build muscle. There where just a few minor things I wanted to tone up, and TurboFire helped me do that. I am very proud of the slimming and toning of my stomach. I never realized I was using so many ab muscles with barely any on-the-ground ab-work. Amazing results!
How has your life changed since completing your Beachbody program?
My life has changed in many ways. I, my friends, family and peers all see me differently now. I love it. They see me as confident, happy, motivated, healthy, and achieving goals. I’m more of a role model for my daughter, and that makes me the most happy. I want to do and be more now! I have started to share my story with other people through being a Beachbody Coach. Nothing is more rewarding than having a chance for my story to inspire someone else to start their story!
How did your Team Beachbody® Coach support you on your journey?
We held fit clubs and kept each other accountable the whole time. We are on the same team and plan to do bigger and better things through Beachbody!
