Like our Vanilla Chai Shakeology recipe, this chocolate chai smoothie recipe uses fragrant, spiced chai tea, but for the holidays we gave it a chocolate twist. The flavors are truly a match made in heaven.
Since this drink is intended to be cold, it’s best to brew the chai tea beforehand and allow it to cool before blending your smoothie.
Pro tip: Store a big batch of brewed chai in the fridge (or freeze it as chai ice cubes!) and you’ll be able to make this Shakeology smoothie in minutes!
Most chai teas contain caffeine, so if you’re looking for a caffeine-free tea alternative, try chai rooibos or another herbal chai blend.
If you’re not a big fan of allspice, you could substitute it for a dash of ground cinnamon, ginger, or cardamom instead.
To make a vegan Chocolate Chai Shakeology smoothie, use Chocolate Plant-Based Vegan Shakeology and swap maple syrup (or another liquid sweetener) instead of honey.

Chocolate Chai Shakeology
The exotic spices in this Chocolate Chai Shakeology smoothie will make you want to keep brewed chai tea in your fridge at all times.
- 1 cup brewed unsweetened chai tea, chilled
- 1 cup ice
- 1 scoop Chocolate Shakeology
- 1 dash ground allspice
Place tea, ice, Shakeology, and allspice in blender; cover. Blend until smooth.
